my goal as I make an image is to create a mystery. despite the fact that I'm photographing relatively mundane objects like flowers or other plants, that I literally find on the streets around my home. i want to show that ugly things can be pretty and pretty things are often ugly. through fields of color, visual textures and movement I hope to endow the things I photograph with more power and presence over us than they do in person. i'm not asking you to stop and smell the flowers, i'm trying to beat you over the head with a flower so you can understand how amazing i think they are.
